Fields: Deleted Assets
The Deleted Assets page lists the assets and directory nodes that have been deleted from the digital asset hierarchy, but have not yet been purged from the system. This page contains options for permanently removing selected assets and directory nodes from the system, or restoring them to the digital asset hierarchy.

Deleted Assets and Folders List
Displays a list of all the digital assets and folders (hierarchy nodes) that have been marked for deletion and moved to the Deleted Assets page.
This list displays the following information for each deleted asset or directory node.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Selected |
Specifies whether the listed asset or directory node is selected for permanent removal or for restoration to the digital asset hierarchy. A check mark in the check box means the asset or directory node is selected. If the check box does not contain a check mark, or if you remove the check mark, the asset or directory node is not selected. |
Type |
Indicates whether the deleted item is an asset or a directory node. If the item is a directory node, a folder icon () displays in the Type column. If the item is an asset, a document icon () displays in the Type column. |
Name |
Displays the name of the asset or directory node. |
Directory Path |
Displays the full directory path from which the asset or directory node was deleted. Note: If you restore an asset or directory node, the Directory Path column shows the location to which the asset or directory node will be restored. |
Deleted By |
Displays the login name of the user who deleted the asset or directory node from the digital asset hierarchy. |
Date Deleted |
Displays the date and time on which the asset or directory node was deleted from the digital asset hierarchy. |
Child Count |
Displays the number of child assets and child directory nodes that are contained in the deleted asset node. If the deleted asset node does not contain any child assets or directory nodes, a zero (0) displays in the Child Count column. Note: This field does not apply to deleted assets. For deleted assets, the Child Count column displays “N/A” for “not applicable.” |
Managing Deleted Assets Options
The Deleted Assets page contains the following options that you may use.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Select All |
Automatically selects the Select check box for each asset or directory node in the Deleted Assets list. Use this option to quickly select all assets and directory nodes in the list instead of selecting every individual check box in the Select column. Note: If you select the Select All check box again, every check box in the Selected column is cleared. |
Delete Permanently
|
Purges the selected asset or directory node and its child assets from the system. Important: Use this option with caution. Once an asset or directory node is permanently deleted from the system, it cannot be restored to the digital asset hierarchy. For information, see Permanently removing deleted assets and directory nodes. Important: Permanently deleting assets may cause errors for patrons who attempt to access resources attached to those assets. In order to reduce the impact of these changes, run the SD_ASSET_EXTRACTOR system task to remove your deleted assets from search results before permanently deleting them. The SD_ASSET_EXTRACTOR task initiates the SD_ASSET_IMPORT task when it is finished, which in turn initiates the SD_ASSET_INDEX task. All three of these tasks must run before an asset no longer appears in the search results. For more information, see Understanding search source tasks. Note: You cannot purge assets that were harvested from an OAI-PMH site unless you have deleted the harvest site (for more information, see Deleting an OAI-PMH site). Note: You cannot purge a folder that you have assigned to a room until you remove it from the room (for more information, see Removing assets from a room) |
Restore
|
Places the selected asset or directory node back into the digital asset hierarchy at the location or locations from which it was deleted. For more information, see Restoring deleted assets and directory nodes. |
Items Per Page |
Specifies the number of assets and folders that are to display at one time in the deleted assets and folders list. The default value is 10. If the number of deleted assets and folders exceeds the specified value, numbered page icons display. Click the page icons to move forward or back in the list of deleted assets and folders. |
