Restoring deleted assets and directory nodes

If you previously deleted an asset or directory node, and it has not been permanently removed from the system, you can put the asset or directory node back into the digital asset management hierarchy by using the Restore option on the Deleted Assets page. When an asset or directory node is restored to the digital asset hierarchy, the asset or node is put in the location or locations from which it was deleted.

Once you permanently remove a digital asset or directory node from the system, it cannot be restored using the Restore option on the Deleted Assets page. Removing a directory node will purge all child assets and child nodes in the selected directory node.

To restore assets and directory nodes to the digital asset hierarchy

  1. Log in to the Admin console.
  2. Choose Assets from the navigation pane.
  3. Choose Deleted Assets.

The Deleted Assets page displays and shows a list of all the digital assets and directory nodes that have been deleted from the digital asset hierarchy. For more information about each field on the Deleted Assets page, see Fields: Deleted Assets.

  4. Do one of the following.

    • Select the check box in the Selected column for each digital asset or directory node that you want to restore.

If you mistakenly select a check box for an item, select the check box again to clear the check mark from the check box.

    • Select the Select All check box to automatically select every check box in the Selected column for the list of deleted assets and directory nodes.

If you select the Select All check box again, every check box in the Selected column is cleared.

  5. Choose Restore.
  6. At the Restore selected items? prompt, do one of the following.

    • Choose Restore to confirm that you want to restore the selected items.

The selected digital assets and directory nodes are put back into the digital asset hierarchy in the location or locations from which they were deleted. The restored assets and directory nodes no longer display in the list of deleted digital assets and directory nodes.

    • Choose Cancel to stop the restoration process and return to the Deleted Assets page without restoring any items.
