Viewing details of a digital asset

The Asset Details page allows you to view the metadata information for the asset, see its media type, view the actual asset (if applicable for the type of asset), and/or download a copy of it (if applicable).

You can view asset details only if your login has an access level that allows you to view an asset.

To view the details for a digital asset

  1. Log in to the Admin console.
  2. Choose Assets from the navigation pane.

The Assets page displays. The digital asset hierarchy appears under Directory.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Use the Directory hierarchy to locate the asset whose details you want to view. Refer to Navigating the digital asset hierarchy for information about navigating to a particular directory node and digital asset.
    • Use Search Assets by Name to find the assets (for more information, see Searching for assets).
  4. Hover the mouse cursor over the name of an asset to see a preview image (thumbnail) of the asset, if available.

If no preview image is available for the asset, the “No Preview Available” message appears.

  5. Choose the name of the asset under Directory Contents.

The Asset Details page displays and lists the asset’s name, media type, and the metadata of the asset. For more information, see Fields: Asset Details.

If you want to view the digital asset, choose View Asset.

  6. Choose OK to return to Assets.
