Fields: Displays
Displays lets you configure the look and functionality of item information in the Searching interface. Portfolio allows you to configure two types of displays: search result displays and detail displays. Search result displays are the settings that control how a list of search results appears and functions to the patron. Detail displays are the settings that control how the detailed display for a single library item appears and functions to the patron.
Displays
After you have configured search result displays and detail displays, you can assign them to a profile or room. Both search result displays and detail displays can be assigned to one or more profiles or rooms.

If you add, edit, or remove a display, you must refresh the Discovery search cache afterwards. Your changes are not reflected in Searching or the Admin console until you refresh the search cache. For more information about refreshing the Discovery search cache, see Refreshing the search cache. |
Manage Display also lets you edit the labels throughout the Admin console and Searching interfaces of the program. This lets you configure the labels to your needs and to create translations of the labels.
Search Result Displays
Lets you configure the settings that control how the search result display appears and functions to patrons. A search result display is a group of settings that control the appearance and behavior of a list of search results. You can assign a search result display to a specific profile or multiple profiles. Detail Displays
Lets you configure the settings that control how a detailed display for a single library item appears and functions to patrons. You can assign a detail display to a specific profile or multiple profiles. This also allows you to insert HTML widgets for third-party applications or customized functionality. My List Displays
Lets you configure the settings that control how a list of items in My Lists displays and functions. A My List display is a group of settings that control the appearance and behavior of a list of results. You can assign a My List display to a specific profile or multiple profiles. HTML Widgets
Lets you create small pieces of code that can be inserted into one or more search result display or detail display to provide an automated function on that page. Widgets will also include fields that the widget can hook into that, when not present in an item, will hide the widget's functionality in that item's display. Language Files
Lets you edit the label and prompt strings in Portfolio and assign them to different language codes. You can browse language strings by location in the program or search for distinct words or phrases to edit. For more information, see Fields: Language Files.
