Deleting a role

You can remove roles that are no longer needed. To delete a role, you must first assign a different role to all users to whom that role is assigned. If the role is assigned to a user, it cannot be deleted.

If a role is reassigned for a user who is currently logged in, when that user attempts to access a function that he or she no longer has privileges, Portfolio will return an access denied error and inform the user to log in again to properly access the granted privileges

To delete a role

  1. Log in to the Admin console.
  2. Choose Security from the navigation pane.
  3. Choose Roles from the Security menu.
  4. Choose the Delete option for the role.
  5. Choose OK in the confirmation dialog to delete the role, or Cancel to leave the role in the list.
